TTOK would like to invite you to the book launch of Janette Platana’s new book of short stories, “A Token of My Affliction,” on Thursday, February 26th, 2015 @ 7:30pm. $20 at the door (includes a copy of the book)
These cheerfully disturbing, gleefully outraged, and frequently beautiful stories portray the lives of apparently ordinary people who struggle to live without compromise in a world where things can be true without ever being real.
The Black Honey Writers – Ryan Kerr, Kate Story, Joe Davies and Janette Platana – are all scheduled to read.
Guests are invited to video for posterity their own readings from the book.

An apology junkie who lurks around AA meetings, hoping someone will run into her on their Ninth Step — Making Amends. (Someone runs into her, alright.) See “Easter, or, It’s All About Me”. You can also download your Dear Ex-Friend Cards here!
A breathless liar who narrates her baptism by Jesus. In the Muskokas. Near Santa’s Village. Where her dad, the former King of Ontario, goes to golf… See “My Baptism”
The kid who hates hockey but wants to talk to Dave Bidini anyway.
The gal who doesn’t play hockey or wear a toque, but knows she is Canadian because she has control of her reproductive self. See “Feminine Protection”.
The guy who believes his task is to be a daily joy to God, and so rides the lonesome prairie looking to hang sinners while a god indeed looks on… See “How It Is”.
“Janette Platana’s writing is brave and vivid and full of tender sacrilege.”
