Born on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, he fronts the hilarious and nefarious Cliff Cardinal and The Skylarks; his solo theatre productions have won numerous awards.
As a musician, Cardinal writes protest songs, love ballads, and existential raps through an Indigenous lens. Self-loathing, substance abuse, dark themes, and plenty of catchy hooks.
