Elizabeth “Connie” Converse was a uniquely gifted individual who, in the 1950’s,
composed and recorded a body of songs that went unnoticed in her time. It’s only in the
last decade and a bit, through a serendipitous chain of events, that her work has come
to light and been made available to the world at large.

Joining the growing number of pockets of musicians and aficionados that have been
taken by her songs and remarkable story, this well known group of Peterborough
musicians has undertaken to learn and present a selection of the songs of Connie
Converse, in an informal and conversational setting.

The proceeds of the evening went entirely to The Theatre on King, as it embarks on
its next phase.
